CHAMPLAIN VALLEY AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
LOCAL GROUP 1010

ABOUT US

The Champlain Valley Amnesty International Local Group (CVAI) meets on the third Saturday of each month from 10AM - Noon in the Kolvoord Room at the Brownell Library on Lincoln Street in Essex Junction.
If this location is not available then we meet in the the Community Room at the Essex Police Department on Maple Street in Essex Junction.

Amnesty International (AI) is a global movement of more than 7 million people
in over 150 countries and territories who campaign to end abuses of human rights.

Our Local Group  supports the global vision and mission of AI where all people enjoy all of the human rights as spelled out and enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

AI investigates and exposes the facts, whenever and wherever abuses happen.
We lobby governments and other powerful groups such as companies,
making sure they keep their promises and respect international law.
By telling the powerful stories of the people we work with, we mobilize millions of supporters around the world to campaign for change and to stand in defense of activists on the frontline.
AI works to end and prevent human rights abuses.

Amnesty is independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion.
It does not support or oppose any government or political system,
nor does it support or oppose the views of the victims whose rights it seeks to protect.
It is concerned solely with the impartial protection of human rights.
